„Tom & Lisa“

A class workshop on alcohol prevention for grades 7 and 8

Tom and Lisa are turning 15 and decide to plan their upcoming birthday party together with their classmates. As birthday guests, the young people learn what makes a party successful, how to drink alcohol responsibly, and how to behave correctly in dangerous situations.
The students are not only part of the planning committee—they also celebrate the fictional party with all its wonderful moments and risks.

Development

“Tom & Lisa” was developed by Villa Schöpflin gGmbH in cooperation with prevention specialists from France and Switzerland. The impact of the interactive school workshop was evaluated by surveying nearly 800 young people before and after they participated in the workshop (Gesellschaft für Empirische Beratung mbh Freiburg, GEB, 2008). Due to the positive evaluation results, “Tom & Lisa” has been distributed nationwide for 14 years with the support of the KKH Kaufmännische Krankenkasse health insurance company.
In 2011, Villa Schöpflin gGmbH developed a “train-the-trainer concept” for implementation in schools in cooperation with the Lower Saxony State Office for Addiction Issues and the Lower Saxony Ministry of Culture. The aim is to make “Tom & Lisa” available to interested teachers and school social workers so that they can conduct the school class workshop independently.
Take a look at our “Tom & Lisa” flyer for interested schools and professionals.

Implementation

A “Tom & Lisa” method box is required to implement the school class workshop. The method box can only be ordered after successful participation in a “Tom & Lisa” training course. The method box contains all the materials you need to complete modules 1 + 2. Additional helpful information and print materials such as worksheets are available in the “internal area.”
Thanks to funding from the KKH Kaufmännische Krankenkasse health insurance company, the cost price of a “Tom & Lisa” method box is €140.
To promote exchange among trained professionals, Villa Schöpflin invites you to a digital networking meeting once a year. This gives you the opportunity to share your experiences of implementing the workshop and gain new inspiration for your work.
