For the past eight years, Villa Schöpflin has been working with the Rheinfelden Public Order Office and Police to carry out an annual preventive measure focused on protecting young people. This year, once again, the measure took the form of a preventive awareness tour of restaurants and bars offering gambling.
The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness among restaurateurs of the risks and dangers of risky, problematic, and pathological gambling and to remind them of their responsibility to comply with youth protection laws. In this way, compliance with youth and player protection laws can be monitored and better ensured in the long term.
The tour took place on February 5, 2026. A total of 20 restaurants offering gambling services were visited. This year's campaign focused on snack bars, restaurants, and hookah bars.
During discussions with operators and employees, questions about youth and player protection were answered and awareness of the risks of gambling addiction was raised. An information folder with helpful materials was handed out to the establishments as support.
