Following the founding meeting of a support association, Villa Schöpflin gave a specialist lecture on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, on the topic of digital media in primary school age. Under the title “Cell phones, tablets, and more—how can I safely guide my child through the digital world?”, 15 parents learned about the opportunities, challenges, and responsible use of digital media.
At the beginning, the participants discussed their own attitudes toward digital media and exchanged personal experiences. This change of perspective opened up a reflective view of media behavior in the family.
Parents then gained insight into the fascination and appeal of digital media for primary school children. Current figures from the KIM study (2024) illustrated both usage habits and motives for use. In addition, possible signs of risky media use were discussed.
The event concluded with concrete ideas for everyday family life: Parents received helpful tips for at home and suggestions on how to start conversations with their children.
We would like to express our sincere thanks for the invitation and for the successful implementation of the event, which was made possible thanks to funding in Rheinfelden.
