Villa Schöpflin gGmbH participated in the German Addiction Congress in Hamburg from September 21 to 23, presenting four papers on the topics of digital media and cannabis.

In a symposium titled “Target-Group-Specific Prevention Approaches and Early Intervention for At-Risk and Problematic Internet Use,” moderated in part by Peter Eichin (Managing Director), Lena Butter (prevention specialist) presented the “Max & Min@” program and provided insight into current evaluation results as well as the program’s implementation. Daniel Ott (prevention specialist) supplemented the symposium with a presentation on “freii” and its evaluation results, practical experiences, and future goals.

The symposium “Cannabis Prevention in Step with the Times: Science-Based, Target-Group-Specific, Participation-Sensitive, and Risk-Aware” included, among other things, a presentation by Kim Feldheim (prevention specialist) on the “Cannabis – quo vadis?” program. In this presentation, transferable success criteria for network maintenance were introduced.

The new “Can-K” project, which focuses on cannabis prevention at the local level and the potential applicability of the existing HaLT program to the field of cannabis prevention, was presented by Lena Wehrle (prevention specialist), among others, at the symposium “Cannabis Prevention Among Young People—Prevention Approaches in Various Contexts.”

In addition to presenting their own papers, the team from Villa Schöpflin gGmbH was also able to attend numerous symposia and lectures addressing current developments, innovative approaches, and practical methods in addiction prevention, treatment, and research. The diverse range of content provided valuable insights for their daily work and facilitated an in-depth professional exchange with experts from academia and the field.

Participation in the conference underscores the importance of ongoing professional development and networking in order to address current challenges in addiction prevention at an early stage and to jointly develop effective solutions.
