As part of the nationwide “Alcohol Action Week,” Villa Schöpflin gGmbH—Center for Addiction Prevention—conducted its first preventive awareness tour of restaurants in the Lörrach district from June 11 to July 8, 2026. The campaign was made possible by funding from the municipalities in the Lörrach district as part of the HaLT – Hart am LimiT alcohol prevention program.
Together with representatives from the police and public order offices, Villa Schöpflin visited restaurants and bars in Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, Rheinfelden, Schopfheim, and Grenzach-Wyhlen. A total of around 100 establishments were reached.
The goal of the campaign was to raise awareness among restaurants and bars about the protection of minors and to support them in consistently enforcing age limits for serving alcohol. Unlike the regular test-purchases, the focus here was not on enforcement but on personal dialogue. The tour complemented Villa Schöpflin’s existing prevention strategy and was deliberately timed to coincide with the World Cup to reach restaurants and bars hosting public viewing events.
During discussions with owners and staff, questions regarding the protection of minors were answered, and practical support was offered. In addition, the establishments received informational materials on the protection of minors as well as coasters featuring
Villa Schöpflin would like to express its sincere gratitude to all participating police and regulatory authorities for their dedicated cooperation. In the second half of the year, test purchases of alcohol in retail stores will continue as planned. Prevention and enforcement complement each other in this effort, with a shared goal: consistent compliance with laws protecting minors.
