On Wednesday 20 May 2026, an initial meeting to develop the ‘Early Intervention/Early Detection’ networking module took place at Villa Schöpflin as part of the ‘Can-K’ pilot project.
Villa Schöpflin organised the meeting in collaboration with Dr Heidi Kuttler – Cooptima. Participants included representatives from the police, the public order offices, the district administration, the local court, school social work, the town of Lörrach, the youth and drug counselling centre, the youth welfare office and open youth work.
The aim of the meeting was not only to expand networking but, above all, to strengthen the capacity of all those involved to take action, so as to reach and support young people who use cannabis in the Lörrach district at an early stage.
In addition to important information on the Cannabis Act and the current evaluation of it, participants were trained on the criteria for risky cannabis use, on significant indicators of a risk to a child’s welfare, and on the role of professionals with experience in this area.
Following this, specific action plans were developed in small groups using case studies from public spaces and other settings.
We would like to thank all the key stakeholders for the constructive dialogue and look forward to further collaboration as part of the “Can-K” pilot project.
